Concealer is every girls life saver

Sleepless nights, daily overtime from work, stress from upcoming school finals and more. These are just common reasons why we girls get puffy, dark circles under our eyes. As much as we hate having them, we can’t avoid such instances. Thank God we have concealers!

Concealer is a makeup product designed to hide our imperfections. They come in different shades, from light to dark. Remeber that’s why we must always choose the right shade so as to avoid our faces looking like islands on maps. (ewwww.....) It also comes in both liquid and cream form. You just have to know which type works best for your skin type.

There are tons of concealers available in the market. Local brands I’ve seen are from Everbilena, Fanny Serano, Fashion 21 and Careline. I’ve tried those from Everbilena and Careline but I did not get the natural look I want to achieve. The texture of the products are good however, the shades available are limited. If you have fair skin then I could say that these brands would work for you. I’m morena maybe that’s why I think it did not blend on me well. Pricewise they’re very much light on the pocket. If I’m not mistaken one stick of concealer ranges from P100-P200 only. I’ve been hearing a lot of good review on Fanny Serano’s concealers. This one I do have try in the future and hopefully share my view on it.

For international brands, the ones that I could recommend are from Maybeline and ELF cosmetics. Both are liquid form and comes in different shades. I love love love maybeline’s concealer because it really does cover my dark circles and always give me that no makeup look. I have to double check the price but I think the last time I bought it, its around P200+. With ELF, I use this only on times wherein I’m really really stressed and I have those enormous dark circles under my eyes. What I like about ELF concealers is that it also comes with highlighters. It does not only cover my dark circles but also gives my eyes a certain glow and make me look fresh all the time. ELF concealer/highlighters are sold for only P249.50.

Choosing concealers can be very tricky. It very important that you get the right shade for your skin tone, the right type/form for your skin and of course the right one for your budget!

The Ulzzang look: Night & Day version

Ulzzang is a korean term meaning best-face or good looking. Main concept of this look: THE EYES. Ulzzang girls normally wear eyeliners, false eyelashes, circle lenses to make their eyes look bigger than normal. (just like those seen on anime or manga).

Here's my own version of Ulzzang girls:

Day Version

In here I just used brown as eyes shadow color. I used the one from my Dollface neutral palette. Pencil Eyeliners (black and white) both from everbilena. Eyebrow liner from Etude House. Gel liner (black) from maybeline. Blusher Palette from Dollace Cosmetics also. Herbal Treatment Concealer from Palladio Beauty (from beauty bar). Lipstick
from everbilena in Off Beat Pink shade. Lipgloss from Shawill Cosmetics.

Night Version

Here the eyes have more color. I used midnight silver, dark gray and black shadows from Editor's pick eye shadow palette(Gift from my dear friend Hazel).
Other products used are same with that of the Day version

After

PS: Thanks to my ever patient models Tin Poral and Raine Garcia. Am already looking forward for our next shoot!!!!

ELF Cream Duo Shadow

Curious on how cream eye shadow differ from the regular ones, I found myself buying 2 shades from ELF cosmetics at Watsons (Sm Megamall). One is Butter Pecan, the other Berry Mix

Since I am so into earth colors, I tried Butter Pecan first. Berry Mix would have to wait hehehe. Cream shadows are easy to spread on the eyelid and you dont have to worry about fall offs on your cheeks. However they're so hard to blend. Though I loved how it gave my eyes a certain glow. I would definitely recommend this if you want to pull a daily/light makeup look. It would be a good office look as well. Here's some sample pics of me with
Butter Pecan on my eyes:

I forgot to take a closer picture on my eyes. Forgetful me tsk tsk tsk. The next time I use Berry Mix I'll try to remember to do that.

My verdict on this product....It's a good buy (price is P129.50 each). I would use this if I have more time to do my makeup since I find it hard to blend.

PS: Cream shadows tend to crease after a while. It would help to put some powder shadow on top avoid creasing.

Finally!!!! My own makeup diary =)

After months of wanting to create my own makeup blog/diary, finally I was ABLE to do it.....(YAY!!!! CLAP CLAP for me hehehehe). Work has been eating up my time lately. Tons of things to do in the office tsk tsk tsk..... Not to mention my recent Dragon Nest addiction. (MMO Game)

Anywayz..... In this diary, I will convey my journey on discovering different makeup products that are affordable and of good quality as well. We ladies always want to look our best without letting our purse suffer right? (wink..wink)

Now enough of my blubbering.....Blog blog blog we go.....
